KidSafe Play is a small, family-friendly site that lets parents pick safe games for their kids. We collect as little as possible and we never sell your data or show ads.

What we collect

• Account details — you sign in through GenAI ID, our account service at account.genai.io.vn. We store the name, email address and profile picture it shares with us. We do not store your password — GenAI ID manages your login credentials.
• Social login — if you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, that happens through GenAI ID, which shares your name, email address and profile picture with us to create your account. We do not post anything to your social accounts.
• Your games list — the games you choose to approve for your children.

How we use it

• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To remember which games you’ve approved.
• To contact you about your account if needed.

What we don’t do

• No advertising, no ad networks, no third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
• We don’t sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties.

Children’s privacy

Accounts are created and managed by parents or guardians. The site is designed so that children play only the games a parent has approved. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Content from other sources

Some of the games, stories and comics on KidSafe Play are embedded from other providers rather than hosted by us. When your child opens one of these, their browser connects directly to that provider to load the content — just as it would when visiting any website — which means the provider can receive basic technical data such as an IP address and device or browser type. We choose free, ad-free sources intended for children, and we never share your account details or your child’s profile with them. The main providers are:

• Global Digital Library (content.digitallibrary.io) — the open, non-profit reader used to display many of our stories.
• jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — a public content-delivery network that serves the code libraries and media (books, comics, music) our games and comics use.

These providers run their own privacy practices, which we don’t control. None of them show advertising to your child on our pages.

KidSafe Play browser extension

The optional KidSafe Play browser extension (for Chrome and Edge) enforces blocked sites on your child’s device. You can use it two ways — block sites you add directly in the extension (no account needed), and/or connect a KidSafe Play account to manage the list on the web and sync it across devices. Its privacy behaviour:

• What it stores on the device — the block list you add in the extension’s settings; if you set an optional PIN, a one-way salted hash of that PIN and of its recovery code (never the PIN itself); and, if you connect an account, your account’s API endpoint URL, API token, display name (to greet you) and a numeric “list version”. These are kept in the browser’s local extension storage on that device.
• What it sends to us — if you use it without an account, nothing about your list is sent anywhere: blocking is entirely on the device. If you connect an account, it asks our server (genai.io.vn) for your block list, authenticated by your API token; and if you choose “Add device list to account”, it sends those device-added domains to your KidSafe account so they sync to your other devices. It sends nothing else.
• What it does not collect — it does not record, store or transmit your child’s browsing history, the pages they visit, search terms, keystrokes, or any analytics. Blocking happens locally in the browser; we never receive the list of sites your child opens.
• Permissions — it uses declarativeNetRequest (to block sites from your list), storage (to save the settings above), alarms (to refresh your account list about every 10 minutes), and access to genai.io.vn (to read your list, connect the device, and — only if you choose — import your device list to your account). It requests no access to other websites.
• Built-in starter list — before you set anything up, the extension blocks a small built-in list of well-known adult sites so a new device is protected right away. When you connect an account, your account list takes over; a device-only list is added on top of the starter list.
• Turning it off — remove the extension from your browser at any time, and use Disconnect all devices or Turn off syncing on your block-list page to revoke a device’s access.
